Getting started with travel ball

Travel softball is a major step above recreation ball—not just a longer schedule. It demands a higher level of skill, preparation, competition and family commitment. The highest levels of travel ball are among the most competitive in youth softball. Understand your team's standard before you commit.

What families can expect at Victory

Victory Softball is a Christ-centered organization committed to developing disciplined athletes, strong character and a sound understanding of the game. Every Victory team upholds the same organizational standards for faith, conduct, accountability, commitment and player development. Our coaches provide hands-on instruction, emphasize proper fundamentals and challenge players to improve through consistent effort and preparation.

Families should expect a meaningful commitment to team practices, competition and individual development. Players are expected to work with their team coach or a personal trainer and continue practicing at home. Coaches tailor practice plans, game preparation and team routines to their players’ ages and developmental needs; those differences do not change Victory’s standards or expectations.

Our shared expectations

  • Team commitment: The Victory travel team takes priority when planning sports commitments.
  • Player development: Individual instruction with a team coach or personal trainer and consistent home practice are part of the commitment.
  • Multi-sport participation: We encourage other sports and expect families to discuss scheduling conflicts with their coach before committing.
  • Respectful communication: Address team questions and concerns with the coach first. The founder and director remain available to every family.

Program age range: 8U–HS

Victory welcomes inquiries from families, coaches and existing teams across 8U through high school. This is the program range, not a claim that every age group has a current team or open roster spots.

At evaluations, Victory looks for hustle, attitude, mechanics, coachability and softball IQ—not just results. A coach can confirm whether evaluations are available and any confirmed dates.

Before you commit

Have a conversation with a coach

  • Which team fits my daughter’s age, experience and location?
  • Are evaluations or roster opportunities currently available?
  • What are this team’s practice and tournament commitments?
  • What is included in the written cost breakdown, and what is separate?
  • How will you develop her skills and communicate progress?
  • How do we raise concerns or let you know about a missed event?

Start with your team coach to understand expectations and raise team concerns. Parents can always contact Victory’s founder and director as well. If you are new to Victory, tell us your daughter’s age, location and softball experience. Choose a team—or the program office if you are unsure—in our coach-contact form. You do not need a parent portal account to ask a question.
